How is this different from a Calendly link or a regular booking widget?

A Calendly grid forces customers to navigate a calendar UI, pick from a fixed list of slots, and assumes they know what service they want. Booking Bot lets them describe what they need in plain English ("teeth cleaning, Thursday afternoon, with someone good with kids") and handles all the matching — service duration, staff availability, time-of-day preference. Conversion roughly 2–3× a static calendar widget.

What about double-bookings or sync issues with my calendar?

The bot doesn't keep its own copy of your calendar — it queries live availability at the moment of booking and writes back atomically. Same locking logic your existing booking system uses. We test edge cases (concurrent customers, very-close slots) during build week.

Can it handle my specific scheduling rules (buffer time, certain staff for certain services, etc.)?

Yes — your rules become the bot's rules. Buffer between appointments, lead-time minimums, staff-skill matching, room/equipment dependencies, deposit-required services. We capture them during the diagnose week and bake them into the matching logic.

What about no-shows? Can it reduce them?

Yes — automated SMS + email reminders 24h and 1h before, with a one-tap reschedule link. Optional: deposit collection at booking time for high-no-show services. Most clients see no-shows drop 30–50% in the first month.

Will it answer general questions too, or only book?

It's specialised on booking, but trained on your service/pricing/policy info so it can answer the questions that come up before someone is ready to book ("how much is a filling?", "do you bulk bill?", "is parking on-site?"). When a question goes beyond that, it captures the lead and hands off.

Can it handle existing clients (reschedules, cancellations) too?

Yes — once authenticated by booking reference + email/phone, existing clients can reschedule or cancel through the widget. Cancellation policy enforced (e.g. fee inside 24h). All changes write back to your booking system immediately.
